Behind SoSewfisticated Studios

Welcome to my little corner of the internet!
By profession, I’m a software engineer. After a decade of sewing as a hobby, I found myself craving more creativity than my career was offering. That shift led me back to school, where I received formal training in fashion design. It was there that I truly fell in love with pattern making.
Before fashion school, one of my biggest frustrations with sewing was patterns—the flimsy paper, the overwhelming instructions, and especially the PDF formats. Spending hours taping pages together before even sewing made the process inefficient.
I wanted to engineer a brand of sewing patterns where the process feels simple, and the sophistication is reflected in what you create. SoSewfisticated Studios provides physical sewing patterns designed for durability and reuse.
While my passion lies in pattern making, there is incredible value in teaching sewing. It is a skill that is gradually being lost. To teach sewing is to preserve it. So, I choose to make time to teach others—to experience it, to understand it, and to fall in love with it as I did.
SoSewfisticated Studios is the result of over a decade of trial and error. It has been an incredibly rewarding journey, one that has led me to a place where I feel confident sharing my knowledge with you.
I’ve made the mistakes, so you don’t have to.
I hope to inspire you to disconnect, to do a little less scrolling, and a little more sewing.
